Maurice Sandholm

BOONE, Iowa—Funeral arrangements have been set for 99 year old Maurice Sandholm of Boone, Iowa  and the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone, Iowa. Maurice passed away at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone on Tuesday, August 18, 2020. Maurice was born on April 4, 1921, in Dayton, Iowa the son of Harry and Frances (Lundberg) Sandholm. On February 27, 1947, Maurice was united in marriage to Carol Jean Wise in Dayton, Iowa. He was a farmer in the Dayton, Boone, Boxholm, and Pilot Mound Area before retiring in Boone.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Boone, and the American Legion Post 56 in Boone. Maurice enlisted in Army Air Force in 1942; he served in Europe during World War II and was Honorably Discharged in 1945. Maurice enjoyed reading and visiting with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Frances Sandholm; brother Earl Sandholm; sister Doris Eastberg, and son Kevin Sandholm.

He is survived by his wife Carol Sandholm; daughter Joy (Fred) Rouse; daughter in law Evelyn Sandholm; grandchildren: Cindy (Dan) Carr, Roxanne (Brian) Huggins, and Ben (Jennifer) Sandholm; sisters: Darlene Beyer; Maxine Burks; Irene Draper, and Susan (Larry) Ohge; brother Mike Sandholm; great-grandchildren: Andrew Carr; Amelia Carr, and Logan Huggins, and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone.
