Maxine Redeker

BOONE, Iowa—Maxine Jane Redeker, 96, of Boone, Iowa, passed away at her home on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born on February 14, 1928, in Boone, the daughter of J.R. and Ellen Erickson. In 1953, Maxine married Stan Redeker, and they made their home in Boone. She became very active in city, county, and state organizations. In 1977 she joined Stan in the furniture business.

Her family will always remember her as “Non” and will never forget her involvement in all of their activities and her kindness.

She is preceded in death by her husband, sister, and parents.

Maxine is survived by her daughter, Ellen J Redeker, and son-in-law, Steve Harvey of Milwaukee, WI; son, Joe Redeker and daughter-in-law, Lori Redeker of Boone, IA; five grandchildren: Ben Harvey of Chicago, IL, Michael (Ashley) Redeker of Boone, IA, Grant (Kimberly) Redeker of Boone, IA, Leah (Travis) Mighell of Oronoco, MN, and Christine Redeker (fiancé Jacob Heinz) of Madrid, IA. Four great-grandchildren: Reagan, Cora, Charlie, and Stanley.

A private family graveside service will be held at Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone, with pastor Adam Gordon officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Boone County Hospital Foundation or the Boone Area Humane Society.

The Schroeder-Stark-Welin Funeral Home, 609 7th Street, Boone, Iowa is assisting the family with these arrangements.
