BOONE, Iowa—Michael Alan Day, 59, of Boone, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2024, in his home.
Michael was born November 17, 1964, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, the son of Linda Hodges and William Day. He attended Boone Schools.
On November 21, 1998, Michael was united in marriage to Kim Anderson in Woolstock, Iowa. To this union two children were born.
For a number of years, Michael worked for Van Diest and up until a few months ago, worked at Tom Walters Sanitation for over 10 years. Michael usually could be found at L&M, buying scratch tickets, which he loved to do.
Michael is survived by his mother, Linda Smith of Boone; father, William Day of Boone; brother, Rick Day of Boone; step-sister, Veronica Finch of Weatherford, TX; three half-brothers, Matt Day, James Day and William Day; son, Nickolai Day of Boone; daughter, Katrina (Devon) Day of Coalville; three grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; ex-wife, Kim Day of Boone; step-daughter, Annalease Anderson of Clarion; uncle, Dale Hodges of Boone; uncle Jim Hodges of Boone; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws.
There will be a Celebration of Michael’s Life at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 17, 2024, which would have been Michael’s 60th birthday, at Wilson’s Tap, 1008 Story Street, Boone.
