BOONE, Iowa—Michael J. Weigel, 54, of Boone, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2025, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City.
Mike was born on March 29, 1971, in Boone, the son of Paul and Marlene (Beck) Weigel. He graduated from United Community School in 1990. Mike was united in marriage to Teresa Sankey in October 2001 in Madrid, they later divorced. From this union, three children were born – Nathan, Trent, and Madison.
Mike worked at Landus in Boone for over twenty-five years as a semi-driver. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, four wheeling, and anything outdoors. Mike loved spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; and his daughter, Madison Weigel.
Mike is survived by his sons, Nathan (Sadie) Weigel and Trent (fiancée, Makayla Gerlach) Weigel; his parents, Paul and Marlene Weigel; one sister, Angela Weigel; two brothers, Matt (Shanda) Weigel and Brad Weigel; several cousins, nieces, and nephews
There will be a Celebration of Mike’s Life from 4:00 PM to7:00 PM Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the shelter house in Nelson Park, 305 Benton Street, Slater, IA 50244.
