BOONE, Iowa—Cale Naeve from Boone was sworn in this week as the newest member of the Boone Police Department. Naeve fills a spot on the department currently vacant due to deployment of Officer Riley Bryant. Chief John Wiebold proposed the hiring earlier this year to cover Bryant’s deployment. Wiebold had said that once Bryant returns the department will have a mandatory retirement by the end of 2026. Naeve did play hockey before deciding to switch to law enforcement.
