BOONE, Iowa—Boone Mayor John Slight swore in two new public safety employees during the Monday evening Boone City Council meeting. First, Jacob Demastus was sworn in as the newest member of the Boone Fire Department. Demastus is already a paramedic. Slight then swore in Jessica Hinz as the newest member of the Boone Police Department. Both appointments fill existing vacancies in the respective department.
