
The Ogden baseball team ran into a tough challenge Thursday, June 4, facing undefeated and 10th-ranked Pleasantville in a West Central Conference doubleheader at Pleasantville.
The Bulldogs were unable to slow down the Trojans, falling in both games.
In Game 1, Pleasantville showed why it remains one of the top teams in the state, rolling to a 10-0 victory.
Keagan Ristvedt and Thomas Bergstrom each collecting two hits to lead the Bulldogs.
Brody Burdette and Treyton Mitchell added a hit apiece.
On the mound, CeJay Jones recorded five strikeouts but took the loss.
The Bulldogs regrouped in Game 2, but the Trojans completed the sweep with a 6-1 win.
Ogden’s highlight came from Christian Thede, who blasted a solo home run to put the Bulldogs on the board.
Ristvedt, Mitchell, and Jones each contributed a hit in the nightcap.
Thede also started on the mound in Game 2, striking out two while taking the loss.
With the pair of setbacks, Ogden moves to 4-7 on the season, while Pleasantville maintains its perfect record at 11-0.
The Bulldogs hit the road again tonight, traveling to Eldora for a matchup with South Hardin (6-4).
