Ogden boys finish 4th at conference meet

The Ogden Bulldogs boys cross country team finished 4th and the girls finished 8th at the West Central Activities Conference meet hosted by Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center Thursday, October 16.

The Ogden Bulldogs boys cross country team finished 4th and the girls finished 8th at the West Central Activities Conference meet hosted by Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center Thursday, October 16. 

The boys scored 107 points and two runners earned Second Team All-Conference honors. 

Thomas Bergstrom led the Bulldogs with a 9th-place finish in 18:05, and Myles Tromblay followed closely in 11th at 18:08. 

Bergstrom and Tromblay received second team all-conference honors. 

Landon Abbott placed 17th in 18:31, and Bek Anderson placed 27th in 19:17. 

Henry Russo, Elias Engelmann and Ryder Graham all contributed to scoring. 

Des Moines Chrisian won the meet with 26 points 

The Ogden girls placed 9th with 229 points, led by Elyse Fisher, who finished 35th with a time of 23:25.  

Sophie Seligman followed in 24:00, and McKenzie Spencer ran in 25:20. 

Sophomore Alauna Wells ran a personal record of 28:44, and junior Brylie Hicks rounded out the scoring in 30:48.  

Des Moines Christian also won the girls’ meet with 34 points.

Ogden will compete in the Class 2A State Qualifying Meet on Thursday, October 23, at the Eagle Grove Golf Course  

Teams at the meet include Belmond-Klemme, Denver, Dike-New Hartford, Eagle Grove, Garner-Hayfield-Ventura, Greene County, Jesup, Ogden, Okoboji and Pocahontas Area.
