Ogden boys pick up two wins

The Ogden boys’ basketball team picked up two non-conference wins last week defeating Paton-Churdan and Woodward Academy.

The Ogden boys’ basketball team picked up a non-conference win Thursday, January 15, defeating Paton-Churdan, 64–50, at home behind a balanced scoring attack. 

Brayden Miller led the Bulldogs with 17 points, shooting 8-of-16 from the field while adding 11 rebounds and seven offensive boards.  

Nate Swisher delivered 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting, and Jase Coleman matched him with 12 points, hitting a three and going 5-for-7 at the free-throw line. 

Colson Carson grabbed 7 rebounds with two offensive boards and finished with 4 steals. 

Kobe Current contributed two assists. 

Ogden edges past Woodward Academy 

The Bulldogs survived a tight fourth quarter to defeat Woodward Academy, 57–55, in a non-conference matchup Friday, January 16, at home. 

Ogden started strong with a 19–16 lead after the first quarter but trailed 34–30 at halftime. 

The Bulldogs regrouped in the third, outscoring Woodward Academy 17–11 to take a 47–45 lead entering the final period.  

Carson scored 19 points finished 7-for-13 from the field and added 9 rebounds, including three offensive boards, and two steals.  

Miller contributed 14 points, pulled down 11 rebounds, and tallied two steals. 

Swisher added 7 points and six rebounds, while Keagan Ristvedt chipped in 7 points. 

Coleman handed out 9 assists with just 1 turnover. 

Ristvedt added four assists, and Miller contributed three more.

Short-handed Bulldogs fall to Glidden-Ralston 

Missing four starters due to illness, the Ogden Bulldogs fell to Glidden-Ralston, 65-59, Monday, January 19, in a non-conference game at home. 

Jordan Benjamin scored 22 points while shooting an efficient 9-of-15 from the field, including 3-for-3 from beyond the arc. 

Swisher added 12 points, hitting a three and going 5-for-8 at the line. 

Current gave Ogden another lift with 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting and knocked down a three-pointer. 

Landon Bell and Carson Lloyd each chipped in 6 points. 

Ogden now sits at 4–11 overall and 1–12 in the West Central Conference. 

The Bulldogs are at home tonight for another non-conference matchup, hosting Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center (4–8 overall, 2–6 conference) at 7:30 p.m.
