The Ogden boys’ basketball team defeated Interstate 35, 87–68, Monday, February 16, at Truro and advanced to the next round of the Class 2A postseason.
The Bulldogs raced to a 23–14 lead after the first quarter, and Ogden erupted for 28 points in the second quarter, stretching its advantage to 51–23 at halftime.
Ogden remained in control, taking a 64–43 edge into the final quarter, and the Bulldogs closed out the 19-point victory.
Jase Coleman delivered 25 points, shooting 10-of-15 on field goals, was a perfect 4-for-4 on 3-pointers, and was 1-of-1 at the line.
He added 4 rebounds (1 offensive) and 2 steals.
Brayden Miller finished with 23 points, going 7-of-14 on field goals and 9-of-12 at the free throw line, while contributing 5 rebounds, 4 offensive boards and 3 assists.
Colson Carson posted 17 points (6-of-13 on field goals, 1-of-3 3-pointers, 4-of-4 on free throws), 16 rebounds (including 5 offensive), 2 blocks, 1 steal and 4 assists.
Jordan Benjamin added 11 points, giving Ogden four players in double figures.
Keagan Ristvedt handed out 9 assists, and Miller and Carson added 3 and 4 assists, respectively.
Ogden improved to 6–17 overall, and Interstate 35 ends it season at 6–16 overall.
Ogden now turns its attention to Thursday, February 19, at 7 p.m., traveling to Neola to take on Tri-Center (19–2) in the Class 2A district semifinals.
