
The Ogden Bulldogs boys’ basketball team earned its first victory of the season Thursday, December 4, with a 69-58 win over Perry in a non-conference matchup at Ogden High School.
Ogden jumped out to a 17-11 lead after the first quarter and extended the margin to 31-21 by halftime.
The Bulldogs continued to control the pace in the third quarter, leading 50-36, and held off a late Perry push to secure the win.
Brayden Miller led the Bulldogs with 23 points, including a three-pointer, and added eight rebounds and five steals.
Colson Carson scored 18 points and pulled down 20 rebounds.
He also hit a three-pointer and three free throws.
Jordan Benjamin chipped in 15 points with a three-pointer and three assists.
Nate Swisher contributed eight rebounds, a block, and a steal, while Keagen Ristvedt had seven assists.
West Central Valley 44, Ogden 38
Ogden returned to the court Friday, December 5, for its West Central Conference opener but fell short, losing 44-38 to West Central Valley.
Miller again led the team with 16 points, hitting two three-pointers and going 4-for-4 from the free-throw line.
Jase Coleman added eight points on two three-pointers, while Swisher scored six points and grabbed nine rebounds.
Coleman added six rebounds, and Miller contributed five boards and two steals.
Ristvedt dished out four assists, with Carson and Benjamin adding three and two assists, respectively.
Ogden now sits at 1-2 overall and 0-1 in conference play.
The Bulldogs will look to bounce back when they travel to Interstate 35 (2-1) for a West Central Conference matchup on Tuesday, December 9.
