The Ogden boys’ track team earned state berths in three events and set a new school record in the shuttle hurdle relay at the Class 2A state qualifying meet on Thursday, May 15, in Ogden.

Brady Van Sickle led the way with a second-place finish in the 800-meter run, clocking in at 2:04.43, securing an automatic bid to the state meet.

Jude Benbow also punched his ticket to Des Moines with a second-place finish in the 3,200-meter run, finishing in 10:12.34.

The 4×800-meter relay team of Van Sickle, Myles Tromblay, Thomas Bergstrom, and Benbow earned an at-large qualification to the state championships, rounding out Ogden’s state-bound events.

While the shuttle hurdle relay team of Weston Sundell, Carson Muggenberg, Ryker Kruse, and Treyton Mitchell did not qualify for state, they set a new school record with a time of 1:05.56.

Competing on their home track, the Bulldogs finished eighth overall with 54 points, while Roland-Story claimed the team title with 111 points.

The Bulldogs will now prepare to compete at the Iowa High School Track & Field Championships, scheduled for May 22–24 at Drake Stadium in Des Moines.
