The Ogden Bulldogs had a strong start but came up just short as they wrapped up their regular football season with a hard-fought battle on the road against Interstate 35, losing 20-19 on Friday, October 17, at I-35 High School.
Ogden opened the game with momentum, scoring 6 points in both the first and second quarters, taking a 12-0 lead into halftime.
But I-35 responded with a surge in the third quarter, putting up 13 unanswered points to take the lead.
Both teams traded touchdowns in the fourth, but Ogden’s rally came up one point shy.
Quarterback Carson Lloyd led the offense, completing 7 of 14 passes for 80 yards and a touchdown.
Cayden Dudley carried the ball 19 times for 90 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Treyton Mitchell made an impact with a 67-yard touchdown reception, while Weston Sundell added 2 catches for 9 yards.
Defensively, Landon Alexander anchored the unit with 12 tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss.
Dudley also made his presence felt on defense with 6.5 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, and a sack, and Sundell recovered a fumble.
Despite the loss, Ogden finishes the regular season 4-4 overall and 2-3 in district play, earning a spot in the Class 1A playoffs.
The Bulldogs will travel to face Treynor (7-1) in the first round on Friday, October 24, with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
