Ogden girls celebrate senior night with wins

The Ogden Bulldogs girls' wrestling team celebrated Senior Night as it beat Martensdale-St. Mary’s and Saydel in a triangular meet Thursday, December 4, at home.

The Ogden Bulldogs girls’ wrestling team celebrated Senior Night as it beat Martensdale-St. Mary’s and Saydel in a triangular meet Thursday, December 4, at home.  

Ogden 47, Martensdale-St. Mary’s 24 
Ogden opened the night with a 47-24 win over Martensdale-St. Mary’s.  

The Bulldogs picked up points through a mix of forfeits and hard-fought wins.  

Ruby Tasler capped the dual in style at 235 pounds with a technical fall (16-1) victory.  

Makayla Alexander added a pin at 170 pounds, while Rylin Casey started the dual strong with a forfeit win at 100.  

Other Bulldog winners included Sophie Seligman (125), Tori Alexander (130), Jozlyn Wells (135), Kinley Hare (140) and Grace Hammer (190). 

Ogden 58, Saydel 18 
The Bulldogs carried their momentum into the second dual, rolling past Saydel 58-18.  

Ogden dominated early and never looked back, with great performances from Trinity Stoneburner, who earned a 9-1 major decision at 110 pounds, and Wells, who scored a pin in just 57 seconds at 135.  

Alexander added another quick fall at 170, and Tasler closed the night with a pin at 235.

The Bulldogs will travel to Des Moines for the Saydel Girls Invitational Friday, December 12.
