Ogden girls’ track is runner-up at Woodward-Granger invite

The Ogden girls’ track and field team finished second at the Woodward-Granger Invitational Tuesday, April 28, in Woodward.

The Ogden girls’ track and field team finished second at the Woodward-Granger Invitational Tuesday, April 28, in Woodward.  

The Bulldogs scored 147 points and finished second to host Woodward-Granger with 157 points 

Macy Bristle brought home gold in the discus, winning the event with a throw of 87‑3. 

The shuttle hurdle relay team of Ella Anderson, Mady Benjamin, Paysen Graden and Alena Wilson earned a first‑place finish, winning the event with a time of 1:12.82. 

Ogden also claimed a first‑place finish in the 4×200-meter relay, as Sophie Seligman, Trinity Stoneburner, Grace Christensen and Dakota Jones crossed the line in 1:55.58. 

In the high jump, Benjamin cleared 4‑6 to place second and Sidney Crane placed third, clearing 4‑4. 

Gretta Gannon earned a second‑place finish in the shot put with a throw of 30‑1.5 and also was third in the discus with a throw of 84-0. 

The 4×800-meter relay team of Seligman, Stoneburner, Elyse Fisher and Jones finished second with a time of 10:46.51. 

Ogden’s sprint medley relay team of Aubrey Leonard, Graden, Anderson and Layla Wells earned third place with a time of 2:06.82.

The girls will compete at the Ron Howard Invite Thursday, April 30, at Goeppinger Field in Boone.
