
The Ogden girls’ wrestling team turned in a strong performance at the South Tama Girls Invitational on Thursday, November 20, finishing sixth overall with 127.5 points in a deep 14-team field.
South Tama dominated the event with 293.5 points, followed by Vinton-Shellsburg (184) and Solon (154).
Ogden’s highlight came at 190 pounds, where Grace Hammer went 3-0 and captured the championship.
Hammer pinned all three opponents in under 35 seconds, including a fall over Ioleta Kingbird (South Tama) in the finals.
Rylin Casey (100 lbs) placed third with a 4-1 record, battling back after a narrow first-round loss, winning four straight matches by fall.
Trinity Stoneburner (110 lbs) also finished third, going 4-1 with four pins on the day.
Ruby Tasler (235 lbs) claimed fourth place, going 3-2.
Glenda Moody (155 lbs) placed sixth, while Makayla Alexander (170 lbs) and Carlie Hinderaker (115 lbs) each finished seventh.

Ogden is 1 of the 33 teams that will compete at the Central Iowa Kickoff Tournament at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Nevada High School and Middle School.
