OGDEN, Iowa—The Ogden Police Department has released a summary of activity handled by the department between March 23rd and March 29th.
Monday, March 23, 2026
-11:45AM. Officer took a complaint of the crossing arms malfunctioning at the NW 4th St railroad crossing. Union Pacific was contacted as they had been working on it earlier that day.
-9:59PM. Deputy conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of N 1st St and W Locust St. The driver, 24 year old Roberto Requena, of Sioux City, IA, was cited for driving with a suspended license and released with his promise to appear.

-10:02AM. Officer met with 3 bail enforcement agents out of North Carolina seeking a fugitive believed to be in the 200 block of S 1st St. The subject in question was located later that day and taken into custody by the agents.
-1:20PM. Officer provided a funeral escort.
-7:41PM. Officer took a report of a lost dog located in the 400 block of N 1st St. The owner was located.
-9:43PM. Lost beagle was located near SW 5th and W Division St. Officer transported the dog to the Boone Area Humane Society. (The owner was identified the next day)
Friday, March 27, 2026
-3:50PM. Officers conducted a welfare check on a subject in the 400 block of SE 2nd St who had not been answering their phone and had missed a flight. Contact was made with the subject who was encouraged to contact the reporting party. Officers also let the reporting party know that the subject was fine.
-4:07PM. Officer responded to the 600 block of NW 7th St to review a text that the caller believed was a scam. The text message claimed to be from the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) and stated that they had outstanding traffic fines that needed to be paid or they would have their driving privileges revoked and face additional fines. There was a link provided that claimed to be an official payment website. This was verified to be a scam.
-8:25PM. Officer took a report of harassment in the 400 block of W Cherry St regarding a civil issue over a dog. The suspect was contacted and warned not to have any further contact with the reporting party and was advised that civil action through the courts would need to be taken in regards to the dog.
Saturday, March 28, 2026
-7:26PM. Deputy responded to a report of a subject experiencing a mental health crisis in the 400 block of W Division St. The subject had harmed themself and required medical attention and was ultimately transported to Ames for treatment and evaluation.
