The Ogden softball team continued its postseason push with a convincing 8-2 victory over Belmond-Klemme in a Class 2A, Region 4, matchup Wednesday, July 9, in Belmond.
With the win, Ogden improves to 22-11 and advances to play Friday, July 11.
Ogden struck early, scoring a run in the top of the first, but it was a three-run fourth inning that gave the Bulldogs the lead for good.
They added three more in the sixth and capped off the night with a final run in the seventh to seal the win.
Adi Banks had a double and drove in 2 RBIs.
Aubrey Leonard had a standout performance with 1 hit, 1 run, 3 RBIs, a double, and 2 stolen bases.
Sophie Seligman contributed with 1 hit, 2 runs scored, and 1 RBI.
Harleigh Hanssen added 1 hit and 1 RBI, while Lauren Mathews and Clara Kruse each chipped in with a hit.
Katie Wilcoxson tossed a complete game with 3 strikeouts, limiting Belmond-Klemme to just two runs—one in the first and one in the third.
Belmond-Klemme ends the season with a 17-8 record.
Ogden now prepares for a tough test against East Marshall (25-9) Friday, July 11 at 7 p.m.
The game will be played at East Marshall and will be broadcast on FM 101.5, AM 1590 and streamed on kwbglive.com with sports director Ryan Wendt on the call.
