The Ogden softball team blanked Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center 8-0 Tuesday, June 17, in a West Central Conference matchup on the road.
Ogden wasted no time getting on the board, scoring a run in the top of the first before adding seven runs in the third inning to put the game out of reach early.
Pitcher Katie Wilcoxson tossed a complete-game shutout with five strikeouts.
Camryn Askelsen and Breaunna Wenger led the way at the plate with two hits apiece.
Askelsen added a run and an RBI, while Wenger scored once and stole a base.
Adi Banks drove in two runs and scoring once herself, also swiping a base.
Aubrey Leonard crossed the plate twice and had a hit.
Harleigh Janssen, Sophia Moorman, and Grace Christensen each contributed a hit and an RBI to round out Ogden’s well-balanced offensive attack.
With the win, Ogden improves to 9-9 overall and 5-6 in the West Central Conference. ACGC falls to 1-13 overall and 1-9 in league play.
The Bulldogs will face a test on Thursday, June 19, when they host top-ranked Van Meter (17-2, 8-0) in a conference doubleheader.
First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. with the second game to follow at 7 p.m. in Ogden.
