The Ogden volleyball team came up just short in a five-set thriller against Interstate 35 at Ogden High School Tuesday, September 2, in West Central Conference play.
After dropping the first two sets, Ogden stormed back to win the next two but fell in the decisive fifth set as Interstate 35 escaped with a 3-2 victory.
Mailyah Sundell paced the offense with 12 assists.
Camryn Askelsen led the team with 6 kills, while Alena Wilson added 5 kills.
At the net, Sydney Craighton and Camryn Askelsen each recorded 5 blocks.
In the back row, Aubrey Leonard was a defensive anchor, racking up 25 digs.
Ogden was strong from the service line, with Paysen Graden delivering 6 aces.
Leonard was perfect, going 17-for-17 in serving.
Ogden now sits at 1-1 on the season, while Interstate 35 improves to 1-3.
The Bulldogs will hit the road next week for a quad meet at IKM-Manning on Tuesday, September 9, where they’ll face (Exira-Elk Horn Kimballton), Ar-We-Va (Arcadia-Westside-Vail) and IKM-Manning (Irwin-Kirkman-Manilla-Manning).
