The Ogden Bulldogs opened their 2025 volleyball season sweeping rival Madrid in straight sets Tuesday, August 26, in a West Central Conference matchup at Madrid High School.
Ogden controlled the tempo from the start, winning 25-18, 25-14, and 25-12, to secure a 3-0 victory and start the season 1-0.
At the net, Sidney Crane and Olivia Coleman each recorded 6 kills, with Crane and Sydney Craighton contributing a block apiece.
Lauren Mathews had with 9 assists, while Mailyah Sundell added 4.
Defensively, Aubrey Leonard anchored the back row with 11 digs, and Coleman added 6.
Ogden’s serving was sharp, totaling 12 aces.
Macy Bristle and Coleman each had 4, with Coleman going a perfect 22-for-22 from the service line.
Mathews also went 13-for-13.
For Madrid, Iyla Fine had 5 assists and Rylin Velky had 4, while Lauren Dvorak led the attack with 4 kills.
Fine added 3 kills and 9 digs, while Paige Richards led the team with 14 digs.
Jaela Hansen was a force at the net with 4 blocks.
Velky and Fine contributed 3 and 2 service aces, respectively.
Madrid falls to 0-1 but will look to bounce back at the West Central Tournament on Saturday, August 30.
Ogden, now 1-0, will host Interstate 35 (0-1) on Tuesday, September 2 at 6:30 p.m.
