Ogden volleyball wins two at quad

The Ogden Bulldogs hit the road Tuesday, September 9, for a quadrangular hosted by IKM-Manning, facing off against Exira-EHK, Ar-We-Va, and the host team.  Ogden came away with two wins and one loss, improving their season record to 3-2.

The Ogden Bulldogs hit the road Tuesday, September 9, for a quadrangular hosted by IKM-Manning, facing off against Exira-EHK, Ar-We-Va, and the host team. 

Ogden came away with two wins and one loss, improving their season record to 3-2. 

Game 1: Ogden 2, Exira-EHK 1 

Ogden opened the night with a victory over Exira-EHK.  

The Bulldogs showcased precision serving, making 54 of 55 serves for an impressive 98% team serving rate. 

Mailyah Sundell led with 9 assists, while Ella Anderson added 7. 

Olivia Coleman powered the offense with 8 kills, and Macy Bristle chipped in 6. 

Sydney Craighton held the net with 2 blocks. 

Defensively, Aubrey Leonard and Melana Sesker recorded 21 and 17 digs, respectively. 

Leonard and Coleman each served 2 aces, and six players — Sesker, Alena Wilson, Coleman, Sundell, Bristle, and Leonard — served 100%. 

Game 2: Ogden 2, Ar-We-Va 0 

Ogden carried their momentum into the second match, sweeping Ar-We-Va in straight sets. 

Anderson and Sundell each tallied 5 assists. 

Sydney Craighton led with 4 kills, while Bristle, Sidney Crane, and Camryn Askelsen each recorded a block. 

Leonard continued her defensive dominance with 7 digs, and Coleman added 4. 

Both Leonard and Coleman served 2 aces, and Anderson went 4-for-4 from the line. 

Game 3: IKM-Manning 2, Ogden 0 

In their final match, Ogden faced IKM-Manning and fell in two sets. 

Anderson and Sundell each had 3 assists. 

Askelsen and Coleman contributed 2 kills apiece. 

Craighton and Coleman were strong at the net with 3 blocks each. 

Leonard and Coleman added 5 and 4 digs, respectively. 

Paysen Graden served 4-for-4, including an ace. 

Ogden now sits at 3-2 on the season and will look to build on their success as they travel to Perry for a tournament today at 4 p.m.
