Ondrea Elmquist, Assistant Administrator for Boone, talks about the process used by the City in their budget preparations. She explained how work begins, involving Department Heads and the process to eventually bring a budget to Council for consideration. This year that included a balanced budget with no change in the levy rate. She explains how the CIP or Capital Improvement Plan is developed and updated and how that’s used for budget planning. The CIP is a five year plan. She also talked about the Council’s decision to retain Hinson, LLC to assist in the search for a new City Administrator. Aired Wednesday, February 26, 2025.
