BOONE, Iowa—A Boone woman was taken to the Boone County Hospital Tuesday afternoon after being extricated from her car following a collision at South Linn Street and Hawkeye Drive. According to the report, a Boone Police Officer responded to the accident about 2:10 Tuesday. A vehicle, operated by 84 year old Mary Kay Calderon of Boone was struck by a vehicle operated by 25 year old Georgette Lee Miller of Boone. Miller was headed south on South Linn Street when Calderon pulled out from the stop sign at Hawkeye Drive. The Boone Fire Department was called to open the door and remove Calderon from her vehicle. Both vehicles were considered a total loss. Miller was uninjured. Calderon was sited with failing to yield the right of way. Boone Police were assisted by the Boone Fire and Rescue, Boone County Hospital Ambulance.
