Story County and Ames construction and demolition waste had previously been diverted for a year but are back to bring material to the landfill. At the same time, more construction activity in Boone County and the rest of the service area continues to increase similar material. Roosa said he likes to be involved with planning for demolition projects, because with extra effort quite a bit of material can be redirected for other uses.
