From the Council meeting, a request for a letter of support for a Main Street Challenge Grant Application was approved for Main Street and the Dutch Oven Bakery. The Council also set public hearings for their next meeting on September 2nd (note the change due to the Labor Day Holiday). Dr. Allen Goben, Executive Campus Dean, Boone DMACC, talks about the beginning of Fall Semester, Wednesday. He reviews some of the activity planned for welcoming students back on campus. Goben says orientation was held over the summer time so many students are already acclimated to the campus. He says the early projection is that enrollment may end up down slightly, but could vary with last minute enrollment.
