Eli Stines, Boone Mayor, visits about the recent City Council meeting and talks about other events coming up in the city. From the Council meeting, a request for a letter of support for a Main Street Challenge Grant Application was approved for Main Street and the Dutch Oven Bakery. The Council also set public hearings for their next meeting on September 2nd (note the change due to the Labor Day Holiday). The Council also approved the construction contract with Shank Constructors from Brooklyn Park, Minnesota for the Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements Headworks Project. Goben says orientation was held over the summer time so many students are already acclimated to the campus. He says the early projection is that enrollment may end up down slightly, but could vary with last minute enrollment.
