Mikaela Kienitz, CEO for the Boone County Hospital Health Talk. Kienitz talks about the recent Board of Trustee’s meeting in April. There were several administrative reports. Kienitz noted that financially with only a couple of months left in the fiscal year, the hospital is in very good condition. She noted an increase in births compared to a year ago. She also talked about Orthopedic surgical procedures. Kienitz also said there are quite a few staff entered into the Daisy and Rose recognitions programs. Aired Thursday, May 01, 2025.

Ondrea Elmquist, Boone Assistant City Administrator and City Clerk talked about the last Boone City Council Meeting and also the process the city went through to select a new City Administrator. Elmquist was offered the position and has accepted the offer and the Council will consider her contract at the next Council meeting Monday. She also talked about the number of capital projects included in the recently approved budget for the city. Millions of dollars in infrastructure work for the water works northwest of Boone and the water environment plant in McHose Park. She also explained that timing will be important to have debt for the projects, coming due as the Daisy Project comes on line and begins paying water and sewer bills. Aired Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
