BOONE, Iowa—Boone Public Works is trying to complete a couple of projects while the weather permits. Park Avenue was closed this week and is expected to remain closed while repairs and resurfacing are taking place. It was one of the stretches of street that was targeted to be done before the end of the construction season. Work is being done between South Story and Francis Mason Drive or the McHose Park entrance.
Public Works/Parks Director John Rouse has said work will also be done on Story Street, near 2nd Street where a sanitary sewer line has been partially blocked. The work will require closing three blocks of Story Street beginning next Monday. A detour will be provided.
