Pestotnik wins 3 matches at home duals

The Boone boys’ wrestling team hosted Adel-DeSoto-Minburn, Norwalk and Woodward-Granger in duals Thursday, January 16, in Boone.

The Boone boys’ wrestling team hosted Adel-DeSoto-Minburn, Norwalk and Woodward-Granger in duals Thursday, January 16, in Boone. 

The Toreadors lost to ADM, 57-23, lost to Norwalk, 62-14, and lost to Woodward-Granger, 48-30. 

Joseph Pestotnik won all 3 of his matches at 175 pounds. 

He pinned Travis Jacoby of ADM in 1:59, beat Tyler Stanford of Norwalk by major decision, 11-3, and beat Max Dalton of Woodward-Granger by decision, 10-4. 

At 120 pounds, Mason Oostenink pinned Kaden Smith of ADM in 1:35 before pinning Dominick Cavanaugh of Woodward-Granger in 1:25. 

At 150 pounds, Trent Eckard pinned Liam McLaughlin of Norwalk in 4:58 before pinning Cody Tuel of Woodward-Granger in 1:21. 

Against ADM, Lincoln Geroge pinned Logan Connick in :21 at 126 pounds and Brody Warrick beat Henry Krug by technical fall, 19-3, at 165 pounds. 

Against Norwalk, Ashten Peterson pinned Blake Lee in 1:59 at 144 pounds. 

Against Woodward-Granger, Brenden Hedrick beat Jake Carroll by decision, 10-4, at 157 pounds and George Grote pinned Drake Wandersheid in :57 at 126 pounds.

The Toreadors travel to Jefferson for a large 18-team tournament at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 18.
