Popular Orphan Train Program Signals Halfway Point for Historic Presentations

KWBG 03/27/19

BOONE, Iowa—Last weekend, Dr. Rudy Daniels, Railroad Author, Teacher and Historian presented a program at the James H. Andrew Railroad Museum and History Center about Orphan Trains.  The presentation was expected to draw a pretty good crowd and it was probably one of the biggest since Mike Wendel began scheduling programs.  Daniels has presented programs previously on other railroad topics, but Orphan Trains was certainly the most popular.

Mike Wendel has scheduled a total of six programs this year, more than ever before.  On April 20th, Steve Glischinski, Railroad Author, Photographer and Historian will present about Iowa Railroading from the 1970’s to Today.  The presentations are free to the public.  The presentation by Daniels, Riding the Orphan Trains, was partially sponsored by Humanities Iowa and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
