BOONE, Iowa—Boone Public Works is in the process of cleaning up storm debris from Monday night. City staff is currently picking up tree limbs from the trees in the parking area, with cleanup expected to be completed this week. Limbs from private property will not be collected and is the responsibility of the property owner. To help property owners, the Boone County Landfill adjusted their Free Yard Waste Drop Off for regular business hours effective immediately. That means yard waste may be taken to the landfill yard waste drop off area this Thursday, Friday and Saturday and next week on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Free Yard Waste Days are slated to end Saturday May 31st. The Landfill is closed Monday for Memorial Day. Landfill hours are Monday thru Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Saturday: 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
