BOONE, Iowa—For the 5th time, RAGBRAI has selected Boone as an overnight stop. The announcement was made Saturday evening. Onawa, Harlan, Guthrie Center, Boone, Marshalltown, Independence, Dyersville, and Dubuque – the 2026 RAGBRAI route. RAGBRAI starts Sunday, July 19 in Onawa and ends 391 miles later on Saturday, July 25 in Dubuque. It’s the shortest of all time and 10th-hilliest, with 16,027 feet of climb. The full route, including pass-through towns, the century loop and gravel options, will be released in April. Organizers will continue to tweak the route until after the annual Route Inspection Ride in June, so distances may change slightly before the start of RAGBRAI.
