Railroad Historical Programs Resume This Month

BOONE, Iowa—The Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad and James H. Andrew Railroad Museum will once again feature guest speakers for free historical presentations. These presentations can be attended in person or joined by a ZOOM link. The first program will be this month on Saturday, February 18th. Railroad speaker and historian Dave Kroeger, President of the National Railroad Historic Society/IA Chapter will present a free program called Chicago Central & Pacific; A Photo History 1985 to 1996 on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the James H. Andrew RR Museum, 225 10th St. in Boone, IA.

Dave will present a ZOOM and simultaneous “live” program about this special railroad, with photos on the short lived regional from 1985 to 1996. The Chicago Central operated the former Illinois Central Iowa Lines and he will highlight various trains, motive power, and include timetables. 

Dave has written articles and columns for Pacific Rail News, Northwestern Lines, The Milwaukee Railroader and Midwest News. He is a member of the Friends of the Burlington Northern and the Milwaukee Road Historical Association.
