Randal Williams

KWBG 02/10/25

THE MEMORIAL SERVICE AND VISITATION THAT HAD BEEN SCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 15th, HAS BEEN POSTPONED.

PLEASE CHECK BACK WITH THE SCHROEDER-REIMERS MEMORIAL CHAPEL WEBSITE, FOR THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF WHEN SERVICES WILL BE HELD.

BOONE, Iowa—Randal Norman Williams, 73, of Boone, joined his family in heaven, Tuesday, December 10, 2024. Following Randal’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

Randal was born August 26, 1951, in Ames, the son of Clarence “Rick” Williams and Hazel (Mayfield) Elsner. He was united in marriage to Dixie Reeves on February 10, 1974, and they just celebrated their 50th Anniversary this past February.

Randal loved music, singing, and playing guitar. He had his own band for several years, The Country Moonlighters – later known as the Dixie Rebel Express, and played for weddings, anniversaries, and many other events and places. Randal enjoyed going to his father’s and getting together with his brothers, singing and playing music. Because of his health, Randal had to give up his love of singing and playing guitar. He drove cab for RailCrew Xpress, taking railroad people to their trains.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence “Rick” Williams; mother, Hazel Elsner; step-mother, Edna Williams; brothers, Richard K. Williams and Ricky Williams; nephew, Collin “Buddy” Williams; uncle, Bob Myers; aunt, Linda Mayfield; and other family members.

Randal is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dixie; daughter, Nova (Ron); three grandchildren, Ashley, Hal (Tasha), and Braxton; three great-grandchildren, Ryleigh, Brooklyn, and Kenzie; four brothers, Collin (Judy), Rusty, Kenny, and Ronnie (Mai); two sisters, Cindi (Don) and Kathi (Ron); several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles; and his four-legged friends.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall Streets in Boone. Online condolences may be left to Randal’s family at www.schroedermemorialchapel.com
