Randy Alber

Randy Alber,70, Boone, Iowa

BOONE, Iowa—Randy Lee Alber, 70, passed away on February 19, 2026. He was born on September 3, 1955, in Postville, Iowa, to Gary and Marvel Alber.

In 1975, Randy married his wife, Linda, with whom he shared many devoted years. Over the course of his working life, he spent time with Schwan’s and later with the Union Pacific Railroad. Randy enjoyed music, cooking, and relaxing with classic television shows. He also cherished the companionship of his beloved dog, Lucy, who was never far from his side.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Steven Alber and Brooke “Buck” Alber.

Randy is survived by his wife, Linda; his sons, Chevy (Sarah) Alber and Quincy (Julia) Alber; his grandchildren, Tyler, Elsie, and Elin; and his siblings, Jeffrey (Luann) Alber, Joy (Ric) Miller, Tad Alber, Kristi (Marty) Rupprecht, and Chad (Cecelia) Alber.

A graveside service will be held later this spring at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery in Ossian, IA.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a future designation. Memorials can be mailed to, Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel, P.O. Box 15, Boone, IA 50036, c/o of the Randy Alber Family, on the envelope.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall Streets in Boone. Online condolences may be left to Randy’s family at www.schroedermemorialchapel.com.
