Ribbon Cut for Phase One of Villas at Fox Pointe in Boone

BOONE, Iowa—The first phase of housing at Villas at Fox Pointe were formally declared open during a ceremony at the complexes community center, even though there are a number of families already living at the development. City officials say occupancy has been granted to many of the other homes in the first part of the housing development featuring 40 residential units. Developer Brian Fritz said the first phase didn’t happen overnight.

Fritz said the support of the city council and staff helped put everything together to make the project move forward and support of the State, recognizing the need for housing and making programs available to support developers makes projects like Villas at Fox Pointe in Boone

Debi Durham, Iowa Economic Development Authority Director oversees the Iowa Finance Authority which assists developers and communities in putting together housing projects.

The second phase of Villas at Fox Point is expected to be completed later this year. There will be ten triplex buildings designated for housing for those 55 and older. City officials say the total development is estimated at $19 M.

Boone Mayor Elijah Stines and members of the City Council, Administrator Bill Skare, Debi Durham, Director of Iowa Economic Development Authority, with Dan Culhane, President of the Ames Regional Economic Alliance join Fritz during the ribbon cutting ceremony.
