BOONE, Iowa—Rita Ann Brim, 75, of Boone, passed away Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone.
Rita was born March 13, 1950, to Martin and Loretta (Wheelock) Pestotnik in Boone. She graduated from Ryan School, now known as Sacred Heart School, in 1968.
Rita then attended and graduated from the Northwest Institute of Medical Technology in Minneapolis, MN. She then worked at the Hamilton County Hospital in Webster City.
Rita married Larry Brim and to that union two sons, Mark and Peter, were born. They later divorced.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Loretta Pestotnik; two brothers, Michael Pestotnik and Joe Pestotnik; and her sister, Paula Hutchinson Askland.
Rita is survived by her two sons, Mark (Jenny) Brim of Webster City and Pater (Kaci) Brim of Altoona; five grandchildren, Shelby, Hailey, Angelina, Lucas, and Grace Brim; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, October 10, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Church of the Sacred Heart, 915 12th Street, Boone, with Rev. Timothy Johnson officiating. Inurnment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Boone.
