Rose Dragoo

BOONE, Iowa—Rose Lee “Rosie” Dragoo, 89, originally of Boone, Iowa, passed away at Good Shepherd Care Facility of Mason City, Iowa, on Wednesday, August 10, 2022. She had been a resident of Good Shepherd since April of 2021.

She was born November 16, 1932, in Spickard, Missouri, the daughter of Alma and May (Oyler) Kincade. She graduated in 1950 from Princeton High School, Princeton, Missouri. On November 2, 1952, she married Paul Dragoo at the Baptist Church of Spickard, Missouri.

She was a 60-year member of the Bethel Church of rural Boone, Iowa, where she was very dedicated to the children’s ministries. She was a homemaker, enjoying hobbies of sewing and reading. She and Paul enjoyed camping with the family.

Rose is preceded in death by her parents, Alma and May Kincade; sister, Dilila Kincade Tharp Brinnen; brothers, Donald Kincade and Ronald Kincade, and son, Doug Dragoo.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Dragoo of Mason City, IA; daughter, Judy (Merlin) Bishop of Rudd, IA; daughter, Deva (Craig) Moore of Auburn, WA; grandchildren: Justin (Emily) Bishop, Jeff (Claire) Bishop, Katie (Matt) McDermott, Ian Moore, and Tiffany (Marc) Monroy; greatgrandchildren: Ben Bishop, Miles Bishop, Hudson Bishop, Louis Bishop, Sullivan Bishop, Rosie McDermott, Simon McDermott, Abel McDermott, and Tayanna Monroy; sister, Dorthy (Keith) Bracewell; brother, Robert (Alida) Kincade, and sisters-in-law Patsy Kincade, Jean Kincade, and Mary Etta (Kenny) Ireland.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at Bethel Church in Boone County. Visitation with the family present to greet friends will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at Bethel Church. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Boone County following the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be given to the Boone Bethel Church.
