BOONE, Iowa—The Salvation Army, Boone Corps moves into a very busy time of the year for the organization. The annual sign up for Christmas Assistance will be held next week. Lt. James Beardsley says sign up will be held for the holiday meals and also for toy distribution. Information on the sign up is available at the organizations facebook page here. Besides sign up information, volunteers can also sign up for the Red Kettle campaign, beginning November 16th. Beardsley also says they will conduct a distribution of new and gently used coats and winter wear during the sign up. He said they will continue to take donations new or gently used winter coats and gloves, hats or mittens for distribution.
