BOONE, Iowa—Democratic Gubernatorial candidate Rob Sand paid a visit to Boone County Tuesday. Sand started the day with a press conference responding to a letter from three Republican Senators including State Senator Jesse Green of Boone that called for an audit of the Des Moines Public School system. Sand said he welcomes an audit of the school system but the request needed to come from the school board, a district employee or by petition. He said the Auditor’s Office received a formal request from the District Tuesday afternoon and an audit will be conducted.
Meanwhile, Sand traveled to Webster County and wrapped up his day in Boone County before a packed room at the Central Iowa Expo. He talked at length about public service for the people of Iowa.
