BOONE, Iowa—The Boone School District quickly responded to an apparent social media discussion about the future of the district’s swimming pool. Their online response from the district’s Facebook page:
Recently, there was discussion in the community regarding plans to fill in the high school pool and convert the area to classrooms. This is not accurate. Seven years ago in planning for the high school construction this was a topic of discussion and dismissed. Since that time there have been no discussions regarding changing the use of the school pool. It continues to be the home for Toreador Swimming and PE swim instruction, and there has been no discussion regarding changing its use.
