BOONE, Iowa—Jesse Green is the apparent winner in the Republican Primary for State Senate District 24. Green, who lives and farms in the northwest corner of the district led the unofficial results with 2,275 votes, followed by Chad Behn with 1,790, Todd Rasmussen with 1,107 and Joshua Dyer with 427.
The contested primary developed when State Senator Jerry Behn announced that he would not seek re-election and would retire from the Senate at the end of this year.
