BOONE, Iowa—Boone became one of nearly 20 communities supporting Iowa Honey Bee Day with a proclamation signed prior to the Monday City Council meeting. Slight was joined by Council members Steven Ray, BJ McGinn and David Byrd for the signing. Jamie Beyer, Legislative Representative for the Iowa Honey Producers and Nancy Kurrle also participated. Beyer said Governor Kim Reynolds is expected to sign a similar proclamation for the state. Wednesday, February 27th with Iowa Honey Bee Day at the Iowa Legislature.
