The Madrid softball team put together a complete performance Monday, June 30, earning a 8-2 road win over Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center in West Central Conference play.
The Tigers took control early, scoring four runs in the third, three in the fourth, and adding an insurance run in the fifth.
Mayzie Surratt led the way both in the circle and at the plate.
She struck out nine batters in a complete game victory and added 2 hits, 2 RBIs, a double, and a stolen base offensively.
Ashlyn Burkhart delivered a double and drove in three runs, while Savannah Bradley added 2 hits and an RBI.
Tilly Sweet and Hailey Renslow each contributed with hits and runs scored.
With the win, Madrid improves to 8-16 overall and 3-12 in the West Central Conference, while ACGC drops to 2-17 (2-13 conference).
The Tigers return home tonight for a conference doubleheader against Pleasantville, with games scheduled for 5:30 and 7 p.m.
