Thankfully, some numbers decreasing

KWBG 11/29/20

On Sunday, the Iowa Department of Public Health identified 2,013 new cases of COVID-19, 226 fewer positive coronavirus tests than were reported twenty-four hours before.  Well over 227,000 Iowans have now contracted COVID-19 and 2,375 have died of coronavirus:  11 on Saturday, including three in Polk County and 15 in Sunday’s update.  Since Friday night in central Iowa, 395 new cases of COVID-19 have been identified in Polk County; 80 in Dallas; 75 in Story; 42 in Webster; 19 in Hamilton; 9 in Greene; and 26 in Boone County this weekend for a pandemic total of 1,368.  Statewide, 1,175 Iowans are hospitalized for coronavirus, down 46 from Saturday and just over 131,000 have recovered, 799 in Boone County alone.  For the one in three Iowans who have been tested for COVID-19, the infection rate continues to rise, however, to nearly 19%.
