BOONE, Iowa—Thomas Richard Rouse, age 69, of Boone, died at Boone County Hospital on Friday, April 18, 2025, suddenly and unexpectedly. Cremation has taken place.
A Celebration of Life will be from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the Boone Pioneer Senior Citizen’s Center, 1112 Story Street, Boone, 50036.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be mailed to Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel, c/o Thomas Rouse Family, P.O. Box 15, Boone, IA 50036.
Tom was born in Jefferson, Iowa, in 1955, the son of Thomas and Audrey Rouse. He attended Boone schools and worked in construction for most of his life.
Tom enjoyed watching movies with his brother Paul, riding motorcycles, shooting pool, bowling and softball in his earlier years. His hobbies were woodworking and fixing anything.
He was preceded in death by his parents; special friend, Sonia; three sisters, Sandra Hammond, Diane Brown and Christine Peter; two brothers, Michael and Joe Rouse; sister-in-law, Suzie Rouse, and a niece, Claire Ranae Rouse.
Tom is survived by his son, Mark (Juanita) of Des Moines; three sisters, Teresa of Iowa City, Nancy of Allen, TX and Kay (Bob) DeVoogd of Boone; five brothers, Patrick (Fran) of Diagonal, Jim, John (Teresa), Paul all of Boone and David of Huxley; brother-in-law, Larry Peter of Anchorage, AK; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and a few great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews and friends.
We’re sure he had quite a welcoming committee when he passed over, he will be missed, keep his love in your heart and enjoy your lives, be blessed.
