BOONE, Iowa—Thomas K. Rose, age 79 of Boone, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022 with his family by his side.
Tom was born on August 28, 1942 in Boone, the son of Dean and Virginia (Anderson) Rose. He graduated from Boone High School in 1960.
Tom and Sandi met when she was 14 and he was 16. They were going together for 8 years before they married. Tom was united in marriage with Sandra Kay Roberts on October 28, 1967 at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Boone.
Tom started Rose Construction in 1969 and became a well know mentor and business owner in Boone County. His passion was the field of construction and he loved to share his knowledge to help guide others. He also shared life lessons with those he knew and his kids’ friends. Tom was a generous man to say the least, it was not uncommon for him to offer a ride to school or provide work to those in need. Outside of the love of his work, he loved and adored his family; Sandi was his sweetheart, he taught many lessons to his kids (when they would listen) and he enjoyed being involved in his grandchildren’s lives and activities.
Tom was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Knights of Columbus and the American Legion.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; and wife Sandi on March 1, 2021. He is survived by his daughter, Kelli Rose Brown of Boone; sons, Ryan (Kimberly) Rose and Cory (Erica) Rose, both of Boone; grandchildren, Emma Rose (Greg Paul), Nick, Sophia, Megan, Jack, and Ralston Rose; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at the Church of the Sacred Heart. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at the church. Tom will be cremated following services. Burial will be at a later date in Sacred Heart Cemetery. There will be a Celebration of Tom’s Life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Sacred Heart School.
