BOONE, Iowa—Nicholas Upah was officially sworn in as a full-time member of the Boone Fire Department during Monday’s Boone City Council meeting. Upah has served as a Paid On Call member of the department for 18 months according to Fire Chief Justin Adams. Upah was selected after completing the Civil Service process. He’s also scheduled to begin Paramedic Training later this year.
