Volunteers Still Needed For RAGBRAI Visit July 24th

KWBG 07/13/18

BOONE, Iowa—Organizers putting plans together for the upcoming visit by thousands of bicyclists are still seeking volunteers to help host the event.  RAGBRAI is expected to bring an estimated 20,000 bicyclists and support crew members to Boone on July 24th.  Kris Blocker with the Boone County Chamber of Commerce is co-chairing the steering committee planning for the visit to Boone.  She said in a release Thursday that volunteers are still needed before, during and after the event.  Those that sign up today (Friday, July 13th) will receive a t-shirt and for every shift that’s worked will have their name entered into a drawing for a chance to win one of two $25.00 gift certificates.

Blocker noted that all volunteers must be over 21 years of age and sign a liability waiver.  There are a number of ways to get signed up as a volunteer including clicking here, the Boone RAGBRAI Facebook page, the chamber website or by stopping in at the Chamber office at 903 Story Street in Boone.
