
DES MOINES, Iowa—The National Weather Service Office in Des Moines has updated forecast information concerning severe weather and hydrology concerns: Rounds of thunderstorms and heavy rainfall will continue through the weekend. Persistent heavy rainfall could lead to flash flooding and/or river flooding. Severe weather chances return tonight and again Saturday; damaging winds will be the primary threat.
Severe Storms are expected mainly over northern and central Iowa tonight and Saturday, becoming more widespread Saturday night and Sunday. The severe potential exists this evening and again Saturday overnight. Heaviest rain is expected mainly during the overnight periods.
